One of the oldest stone-paved villages on the Annapurna Circuit, with a traditional Gurung and Magar cultural heritage.

Elevation: 1,935 metres

Above the subtropical forests but still below the rhododendron zone — mild temperatures and spectacular views year-round.

Ideal overnight break between Tatopani and Ghorepani on both the classic Annapurna Circuit and the Annapurna Base Camp approach routes.

Spring (Mar–May) for rhododendrons in bloom. Autumn (Sep–Nov) for crystal-clear mountain views and stable weather.

Getting to Shikha

  • Fly Kathmandu → Pokhara (25 min) or take a tourist bus (7–8 hrs)
  • Pokhara → Beni by shared jeep or bus (2–3 hrs)
  • Beni → Tatopani by jeep (2–3 hrs on mountain road)
  • Trek Tatopani → Shikha on foot (3–4 hrs, well-marked trail)
